Claude Code in Action
I had been using Claude as my LLM of choice for some time. I was and continue to be very happy with the value it brings. I started using and of course subscribed to Claude Code for some projects I have been working on.
I have worked with a few other coding agents (Copilot, Cursor) but Claude seemed a bit better and a bit easier to work with. In all honesty I can’t really give a reason why. They were all great products and any of them are a huge productivity booster. I was able to be productive with Claude Code straight off the bat with really no tutorials. I think that was probably because I have used several other coding agents.
Even though it was fairly easy to get started I thought it would make sense to dive in a bit deeper and see what other functionality is available. There are a whole bunch of courses from Anthropic over here. All free. I took the Claude Code in Action course.
It’s an introductory level course that covers some basic background on coding assistants and how to get set up and running with Claude Code. It then goes into a few high-level concepts like managing context and MCP integration. The next section goes into Claude-specific features like hooks and a bit about developing apps with Claude SDK.
There were a few sample projects to download and try a few things out. It took me maybe an hour of total time to get through the whole thing. There is a quiz at the end.
If you are new to Claude Code I would say this course is worth the time. It left me with many questions and still wanting to dive deeper into what else it can do.
